I put a thread in the newbies section saying hello, I am selling my Audi 1.8T-Sport to upgrade to an Octavia vRS.

Could anybody give me some buying advice, general things to check would be great

A friend is selling his black 51 plate Octavia vRS, 52k miles + full main dealer history, recently had a new front ARB and disks + pads. Would it be needing any work done in the near future like new belts/clutch etc ? and what would you say its worth ?

Also, I will be modding it pretty much straight away, I belive MRC is one of the top choice of re-maps available on here, any others worth considering and do you think its worth the extra £100 for a custom map?

Before I get it mapped I was thinking of a de-cat pipe and induction kit, can anyone reccomend the best to buy and would there be any problems removing the cat (I read a thread about ecu warning lights? )? also, would there much BHP gains for going for a full system as I want the car to be a stealth as possible so nothing too loud, I have a Mitzi Evo IV RS for loud mental weekend drives

Dunno what it is worth, but in 20K miles it would need belt/pump replacing.

welcome fellow trevor, we are a rare breed,

i myself, have gone for getting a CAI induction kit one that sits in the bumper,

as for exhaust i am getting a turbo back milltek system, slightly noiser then standard but not much, includes the sports cat and downpipe, for the stealth just go for the exhaust and an uprated panel filter, then get it chipped your be running bout 230bhp,

custom remaps are worth it if you have done more to the car, but its up to you really, hope this helps

Weird too as i used to have an audi a3 1.8t sport
