Freshened front and interior

Starting on Monday, August 14, 2006,

Looks a bit like the Edition 100 minus the Sat Nav.

The changes are too subtle to differentiate it from the outgoing model, inside the only real difference is white lighting on the buttons instead of green, hardly a "redesigned interior and dashboard configuration" is it? looks exactly the same as my 2003 version, only without sat nav!!

Dealer says arrives in Nov in UK. Skoda UK have told him it's basically the Edition 100 renamed to the L&K

They are very "Subtle" Changes -

  • Re-Designed Grille
  • New Headlights
  • Inidicators in Mirror ala Octavia
  • New Rear lights
  • New Dash Lighting

I've been looking at a new octavia, but if I spec it the way I want it's nearly

IMHO the rearlamps look terrible and Skoda are looking towards Lexus rearlamps with those!! Already contacted the 'Designers' about those and asked them if they were smoking something when they decided on that final look!! Apparently it's what Skoda wanted!!

I must be blind...only difference I can see are the chavvy rear lights...they dont look good at all.

More of a facelift..justas they did with the Octy Mk1 when they rounded the front headlights around 1999..IIRC

It is indeed a facelift mate, nothing more.

AAH thought so thanks mate:thumbup:

Shame they didn't expand the engine range. Why can't we have the 2.0 TDi PD 170, or the 2.7 TDi from AUdi. A 3.0TDi would be even nicer :D

THe interior shots do look like an Edition 100, mostly because of the colour of the leather. It does look a bit basic without the Sat Nav.

The Superb was release in 2001 and now we are almost in 2007 so when we will see a completely new Superb?

I am asking this because "maybe" I will bought a 2007 Superb Elegance with 2.8 V6 and I dont want to see on 2008 a new redesigned Superb.

THX,

Isaac

It's safe to say that their will be a new Superb before long but timing wise I wouldn't expect to see one until 2008 at the earliest especially as they have just face-lifted it.

To be honest it's a good time to by a Superb as you will get a knock down price 'old' shape Superb with the new one's just around the corner and IMO the facelift doesn't look too clever.

Wont fit due to the exhaust.

Hence the current 2.0PD being an 8v (really a 1.9 with slightly more capacity).

Perhaps Skoda ought to call in Blue Flame, they would sort the Exhaust problem

After all theyve worked for Bentley, thats part of VAG so they must have an account there OEM Original Equipment for Bently

Is that tiger skin or is it wood?

Looks hideous doesn't it!

God knows why they didn't just stick with the piano black from the edition 100?

Strange that really, you'd think that with the size of the car, and the fact the engine is longitudinaly mounted, that they could fit a 2.0 engine in it?

I dont doubt you for a minute, but how come the V6's will fit? it is rather cramped under there though even my 1.9 has literaly no space under the bonnet!

Its not to do with the engine exactly its to do with the exhaust and the way it would need to route (as the cylinder head is bigger) and you cant mount a self regenerating particulate filter up near the head where it would need to be for it to work properly.

Kin DP Filters
