Alpine Headunit fitting to Octy vRS

Featured Replies

I'm looking to fit an Alpine head unit to my motor but i've heard a lot of reports about certain things not workin and remaps getting lost etc etc after fitting it. What are my options??

Do i use ISO connectors from Halfrauds?? If so then which one?

Also does the 6 Disc changer work after changing the head unit???

Cheers

you shouldnt lose anything when fitting the headunit. you dont need an adapter as the one that comes with the new headunit will plug straight into the existing wiring, you will lose the 6cd changer as i did with mine, unless you can somehow find an adapter to the alpine unit, if its tight getting the unit in, take the glovebox out then you can pull the wiring through, only bout 4 torque screws and the glovebox is out, hope this helps

The changer wont work no. You dont need any other wiring other than what comes with the unit, you will probably need to swap over the permanent and ignition lives but the Alpine loom will have bullet conectors to make this a simple operation. You will also need an aerial amplifier.

I fitted a 9835 to mine with a 4-channel amp and found that the amp would not turn off. It turned out that the remote on wire was constantly live, the car provides the voltage possibly for an aerial amplifier because after dissconnecting this the radio recption is poor. Lummox mentions the amplifier problem.
