Octavia vRS Diesel lead time

Featured Replies

Hi

Anyone know the lead time for delivery of an Octavia vRS diesel? I would want a specify a couple of options and the colour, so presumably would need to be a factory order. I asked the dealer who wasn't sure(!)

If I choose to have one as my next company car, I can order it up to 3 months in advance of the lease finishing on the old car. Hopefully this will be enough time...

Thanks

Ade

3 months should be enough, but the lead time will depend on the colours avaliable. Skoda (and I suppose VW) allot cars by colour and trim, then let the dealers reserve them and add bits. The lead time is only an estimate and build date can be put back.

You may find one already at the docks which meets your specification.

Thanks for replies - will try and get the dealer to confirm time scales when I take test drive next week. Just don't want to find out because its only just been launched there's a 8 month wait to get one!

Cheers

Ade

Think you'll find there's plenty of differently specced up ones in various colours available nationwide.

Your local stealer should be able to source one for you to meet your requirements I'd have thought via their national database.

To my Knowledge all Skoda Cars are built to order for a customer so unless a dealer or other source has ordered one in the expectation of a buyer then in my opinion you will have to place an order. When an order is placed I believe there is a projected build date. Would have thought a supplying dealer would be able to find out the expected delivery lead times. However if the dealer is being used for info only and doesn't expect a sale dont suppose they will put too much effort into it.

Yeah I'm mindful of that, but think since my office (and hence the delivery address of the car) is less than a mile from the dealer, the leasing company may source the car from the local them, so they might stand to get something from it.

Sorry but that is rubbish. Skoda UK will maintain a constant import of most models with a range of the common extras. These cars sit at the port until a dealer reserves one for a customer purchase. I know this because mine was sat in port and I got in within 1 week. I also know because I live near one of the VAG group ports at North Shields...
