Variable servicing

Featured Replies

Picked up my vRS mid December with 34k on the clock, it was serviced by the dealer when they got the car, and picked up by me 8 miles later. Or so the service book says..

Anyway done 1200 miles since and now the 'service' light comes on when starting the car with the mileage count down.

I'm sure even with my driving that the car shouldn't need servicing with what will be 2000miles after it was done!

Is it likely/possible the dealer forgot to reset the variable servicing option?

Anything else it could be?

What sort of mileages are people doing between servicing?

Mine (Oct RS) can up at 17k ish sounds like a reset is reqd, Service book is stamped twice is it? Once at ?K and the 2nd at 34K?. Or was it set to fixed and has 3 services stamped?

It's got the delivery service stamp and then two further stamps, one at 17k and one at 34k.

They both have 'variable servicing' written below them.

I'll try going to the V dub dealer this week and see what they say (Skoda dealers not easy to get to).
