ICE Upgrade has stopped parking sensors!!

Featured Replies

Hi,

This is my first post on here so please be gentle with me!!

I have just bought a Octy 20TDI DSG L+K Estate, and was not impressed with the stereo and wanted satnav. So I had installed an alpine IVA-W200Ri AV stereo complete with satnav and CD changer, all the speakers have also been replaced front and rear.

It sounds fantastic but now my rear parking sensors have stopped working!!

When reverse is selected, I sometimes get a single beep to let me know the system is there but it then does not make a sound after that. Apparantly the system is separate from the stereo but wondering if anyone has had this before or if there are any other issues with the sensors in general.

Any help would be great as the dealer is doing the "It must be the audio" story and are not helping.

Thanks

Sound like it is a coincidence, not too sure if it has any connection, but the best thing to do is refit the old unit, and if the sensors work then its to do with the new instalation.

Radiotwo

In my car (2004 vRS estate), the wiring for the parking sensors runs whrough where the CD changer sits in the side of the boot to the B pillar at the passenger side, which I think is where the beeper sits.

Maybe they've disconnected one too many connections in that side compartment?

If I recall correctly it's a bundle of about 4 wires. Have a look in there for disconnected connectors or damaged wiring.

Bit vague I know but it may help you!
