Water Drain Hole

Featured Replies

Hi all, sorry to be harping on about this but how do you actually check the water drain and air con hole that is causing so much grief, I know its no problem to check at the pollen filter but you cannot see any drain hole below the battery, Is it necessary to remove battery and its stand or can this be checked from under the car.

Regards Pete

I poured water onto the roof and watched its path through the inner wing and under the bettery tray, as the water came straight out the bottom of the engine bay i concluded that the drains were clear.

Good thinking Billy, I must try that, its just that in all the threads that I have read on this problem nobody has actually said how to get at the drain hole if it is blocked, but your way is definetly a good idea,

Regards Pete

There are two drain holes, if you want to get to the one under the battery then you have to remove it and the tray.

Having seen just how much water ended up in the car from the rain last week I would recommend you give it a check, other than ending up with a wet and smelly interior, you have the convenience module and other things that could be damaged.

Hope this helps.
