  1. Hi, Mate had a problem recently on a VW passat, should be similar for the superb. Guide on drain holes is: :: .:: WeirdLittleBiscuit dot Com ::. .:: Fixing Passat Leak ::. :: Guide on fixing pollen filter problem is: http://www.passatworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=212738&highlight=leak Having seen just how much water ended up in the car from the rain last week I would recommend you give it a check, other than ending up with a wet and smelly interior, you have the convenience module and other things that could be damaged. Hope this helps. Andy
  2. Check out ebay too, there are a few sellers selling the Quantum PD oil. Believe it or not Halfrauds also do a fully synthetic PD oil, not long life. You will need about 4.5 litres including the filter.
  3. Hi, Check out boat chandlery shops, I was after a Pella for sometime but found an identical system in a boat shop. They have them as you can't get the oil out of boat engines any other way. Can't remember what mine is called but it takes 6 litres and cost about
  4. Good find, looked Monday and it was £199, went to order when I got home and they've put price up to £249 - emailed and they will reduce the price to £199 over the next few days, apparantly a web error. Gutted I missed out. Well spotted though.
  5. If the sap is still soft, then I found Autoglym intensive tar remover to work well, if it's dried on and gone darker then meguiars clay bar removes it. Way to tell is trying to budge it with your fingernail, if it's sticky tar remover, hard then clay bar. Either way best to rewax afterwards. Also I've tried white spirit etc, didn't work as well but all down to personal choice.
  6. Hi, Different car, same engine but I recently changed a fab VRS to a Passat with the 130PD engine. This had 51k on the clock and had variable servicing. It had averaged 16.5k between services so had only 3 oil changes. Other than prefering to change oil and filter regularly, I would say fixed is the better option as my car had only had 1 air filter and fuel filter the entire time. On checking the air filter and box it was very dirty indeed, half a dyson full of crud in the airbox alone. I think these items often get overlooked or delayed on variable servicing, depending on what mileage they come in at for service. Stick with fixed and change the oil and filter inbetween yourself, easy to do and not expensive, then you know you are covered. Whatever system you are on, only top up with the correct oil.
  7. Thanks Jason, I'll give it a go when the rain stops!! How's you LPG going btw? Andy
  8. Looks good Stu, although I have to say spraying your air vents silver would set it off even better !!
  9. Looking at replacing the rear lamps in my car with the facelift items. From what I can see I have to remove the hard plastic trim from the boot, both the centre section and the vertical items either side to get at the nuts on the lamp housings. Does anyone know how you get the upright plastic trims off, do they just unclip when the centre section has been removed? Also looking to fit a 12v power outlet in the boot, are there any suitable power take offs in the boot already or do I need to run one from the battery? Thanks for any help.
  10. Not sure, I was only in a small branch when I noticed it. I do know that Castrol look to have rebranded the SLX II longlife oil, something now called Edge from memory. There was guy there at the same time looking for the longlife oil and he was told they didn't stock it. Could be they do it in larger stores.
  11. Noticed today that Halfords are now doing their own brand fully synthetic PD oil, spec mentions it's for VAG group PD diesels 505.10 spec. 5 Litre bottle costs
  12. Just taken mine out on a proper journey since replacing the filter. Difference is quite noticeable, engine revs far more easily and the MPG on the trip is up, before it was hard to get it to 50MPG on average, M25 today with the traffic and it's over 54, pleased with that! Won't be leaving it so long next time.
  13. Just changed my air filter for a new one, car has covered only 18K but the fuel economy has been going downhill recently. Amazed at how much crud was in there, filter filthier than an old dyson filter, air box below filter looked like an old flower pot, tons on junk in there. Cleaned it all out and fitted a new filter, see how things go. How can SUK rely on 40K changes !! Pollen filter next, last time I looked that was just as bad.
  14. Try directline on the web. Found them the cheapest for me after lots of searching.
  15. That's what the dealer said, they mentioned it was not worth repainting as there was a reason the paint didnt' stick in the first place.
