Knocking noise at idle

Featured Replies

Hello again. I have had the VRS since Saturday now and noticed a VERY quiet knocking noise at idle. You can only hear it if the windows are done up, thats how quiet this is! Do you think it is anything to worry about. The car is 3 yrs old and has done 33500 miles and been regularly serviced by Skoda maindealer (just so as you know). Any suggestions??

Thanks in advance, SCVRS.

actually now I think of it, it's more of a ticking sound!!

If its a petrol Octy its normal, worse when hot, louder after a total thrashing

The 1.8 20vT is an agricultural sounding unit. A (non petrolhead type) friend once thought my Mk 1 was a diesel when starting up. The ticking's normal.
