Experience of Repair Centres in Manchester

Featured Replies

A couple of weeks ago struck an object on the motorway and did some damage to my car. As its only 3 months old, I think I'm going to have to take the insurance hit and get it all sorted via insurance which will still cost about a grand once excess and lost NCB is considered.:(

Anyway my mazda dealer RRG Stockport have pointed me the direction of the RRG Repair Centre (mostly toyota and some mazda) in Swinton and my insurance company, Churchill have sent me toward the Smith Knight Faye repair centre (do mostly VW/Audi) in Audenshaw. At the moment I'm booked in to SKF the week after next.

I didn't think that the RRG centre knew their way round a mazda any better that SKF. And the initial RRG quote just looked like a parts lists list of every conceivable bumper part and bracket. Where as the SKF estimator said they couldn't do that until it'd been stripped down and all the brackets checked. At the moment I'm booked in to SKF the week after next, although tbh I've no idea which to choose. :( I was just wondering if anyone had had any dealings with either? Send me a PM if its libellous.;)

Hopefully getting mine into Milton Auto Bodies in Eccles who apparently do the work for the local Skoda garage. Will let you know how I get on.

Haven't had great quality from Howard Basford so I wouldn't take it there if you are asked to. I would always go to a specialist repair shop that know their cars with their eyes shut.
