OK, I give up having read the synphony instruction book - how the hell do you turn off the traffic alert totally. I know when you get the interuption you press tp to return to your listening station or CD but how do you turn it off so as you do not get the interruption in the first place.

Please help!

Select FM, that turns off the TA. Then select CD again if you want to listen to CD and you're sorted.

If you hit TP when it's not enabled, it will enable it.

I thought you pressed the TP button to turn traffic announcements on and off? The little TP symbol should light up on the display to show whether it's on or not. Worked for me in FM radio or CD mode. Yes, pressing TP while an announcement is on cancels it.

Pressing AIM plays back a garbled recording of the last few traffic announcements. Good if passengers insist on saying something just as they mention your area! Just don't press it until the announcement has finished because it'll stop recording as soon as you press it!

Edit: I've got an Octavia Mk1 by the way and my Symphony was a single-DIN cassette deck - just in case the Fabia one was different!
