Cable from the engine bay into the car - Octy II - Pics

Featured Replies

This may help someone...

These pictures show how the power cables (for a caravan) have been taken through the bulkhead. They were added by the dealer to the factory fitted 13pin towing electrics.

Very useful - Thanks

That will come in useful very soon, thanks

theres also a very usefull handbrake cable hole on the nearside of the plenum chamber, for left hand drive vehicles, this is plenty big enough to run cables through,

Hi, Is there a problem? as I can not any pictures when viewing this post - and this is something I am very interested in.

Can you re-post the pics please

Sorry the hosting web server is down at the moment - engineers are working on it!

If you want to send them over to me I'll add them to Octavia-vrs.com.

Thanks Guys

HI, I have now had a chance to look at my car and can see that the pics only show where the wires go into the Air Intake area. I have lifted the air intake cover and can see no obvious route for the wires into the inside of the car - do you have any further info on where they enter the car, assuming they do and were not run under the car.

Thanks

Yes if you look at the picture in the thread above, then lift the cover under the wipers and follow back to the next bulkhead, there is a rubber grommet there.

Remove the glove box and you will be able to pass a cable through to behind the glovebox area. There is some foam which needs pushing aside.

Easiest way to locate the hole from glovebox side is to shine a bright light through the grommet hole on the engine side.

Hope this helps.

thanks for the reply Phil, surprised you found the thread after all this time.

As I have a DSG and managed to thread the wires through the rubber blanking piece where the clutch pedal would fit on a manual.

Will be running more wires soon so will probably follow your advice
