Calling All Vrs tdi Owners

Featured Replies

Just being for a test drive in a Vrs tdi and liked it so much i have ordered one , just wondering how good on fuel they really are

 or :thumbdwn:

hey smog monster, im guessing from ur name ur from boro, im from hartlepool so not too far away. fuel econmoy is pretty good. on a recent trip from hartlepool to newcastle the trip computer showed that i did 58MPG, which i thought was pretty impressed with, but then the trip does tend to over estimate

welcme to the site, is it a Fabia or an Oct'y?

I averaged 47 today.......... combination of 'normal' and 'caning it' driving ;)

My Fabia manages about 45 in average use. That's driving quick but not thrashing the life out of it, a bit of urban use and a fast motorway journey.

Hi between 47 and 50 mpg urban use and that's at brisk pace at times !!!!

Thanks for the replys folks . . .

Sorry i should have said , its a 56 reg octavia vrs

yep i,m from just nr Boro . . . . sunny Stockton On Tees

I have Fabia VRS and get around 50mpg from it, going around town and some motorway and A road driving. Hubby has Octavia VRS and its not so good, averaging about 36mpg on a good run, although I have had more out of it:D

as much use as the rest of the replies my mazda 323 gets about 19mpg

Like the others i'm getting between 46 and 50mpg depending on how heavy my right foot is, it's still only done 1700 miles so i'm expecting that to gradually get better.

Still  though

I got a Vrs last week, second hand 18000 miles

typical mpg is 46

but, and it is quite a big but, caning it down the A1 at 98mph last night back to London I only got 34 !!

B road blatting returns about 41mpg

When the thing is on constant boost eg to overcome wind resistance at high speed, the economy really suffers.

Same her.

If I drive without "canning it";) I average around 54 resulting in an extra days use to the tank. Average 55miles a day.

you lot, he is on about a 2.0tdi octavia mk2 vRS not a 1.9tdi fabia vRS so as helpful as it may seem them figures mean diddly squat to the bloke hence my comment on the mpg i get from the mazda :)

Hi - I've got a new Octavia VRS TDI just under 1k on the clock averaging 45.1 on shortish journeys, hope once "run in" to get a bit better, but so far dead chuffed as the performance in terms of acceleration and generally handling is FANTASTIC!!!! Never had a Skoda or Diesel before but I'm really, really pleased, except for the engine managemant light on since about 200 miles which I'm waiting to get a new part for.

Terry,

I had my new sensor fitted by Rainworths in Mansfield a week last saturday, it seems to have sorted the problem and only took 1/2 hour, so i'd get on to your dealer about it because the parts 'should' be available now.

Kenny - hi thks for that, only just picked your message up but will phone Dealer tomorrow. Hows the car going, mine is great but only done just over 1k so have been taking it easy. Will start opening her up a bit now though>

Hi terry, car is great so far, very happy with it, done 2300 miles now since Nov 6th  It's loosening up nicely now and is in a different league to my old Ford Focus that i had before performance wise.

Just got a couple of vibrations i need to chase down but apart from that it's a big  from me.

Paul
