Picked up my new black Fabia Vrs on Tuesday from FR Pulleyn in York. 2 days on i'd describe it as My Mile Munching Monster Machine........impressed, you bet i am.

I had been looking at getting a Vrs for the last year, and finally visited the dealers about 2 weeks ago. I went for a short test drive & almost instantly knew that this was the car for me, everything i'd heard about it was proven right. I wanted to trade in my 51 reg 73K miles 206 D-Turbo, but didn't hold much hope due to the bald tyres, almost non-existent brake pads, broken door hinge & a whining turbo. So i was pleasantly surprised to be offered

You beat me (on picking the car up) by one day. Wouldn't spend the money for a branny so got 04 with 15,800 miles (has had two oil changes and brake fluid too, though).

As you say performance is awesome - catapult-like. Had not test driven one - but had read Mag reviews and user reviews and Forum advice ad infinituum. Have not been proven wrong. I mean even Jeremy Klaxon likes them ! Mind you, that may be a point against them going off some of his choices - I mean, fancy buying a pratmobile like the Ford GT40.

So so impressed with solidity, feel of quality. Notice admiring looks too (presume they're not for me - at 54 bald etc) particularly from youngsters.

The ability to tootle round and then blat on a whim does (like everyone says) put a smile on your face every time you drive it.
