Hi People

I am new to the wonderful world of the Skoda. I am due to pick up my new octavia Combi Elegance 1.9D 105bhp mid January and i can't wait. I currently drive a C5 estate and won't miss it! I happened to be passing the garage where I'm picking up my new baby and i saw the car sat on the forecourt so i asked if i could have a quick scan at it. Lovely Jubbly! One small thing, I noticed a small Aux socket in the centre console area. Will this be anything to do with an MP3 player? should I pester the wife now for an iPod before Chrimbo?

Hi Sean,

Welcome to Briskoda!

(Sorry, I dunno how to put the little mark over the letter 'a' in your name - are you from the emerald isle by chance?)

The aux socket - is it round or square? Could be the 12v socket usually suitable for a ciggy lighter!

Hi

what a quick reply! thanks. Yes I'm from Mayo on the west coast of Ireland.

The socket that i mentioned is for a small jack plug and is marked AUX.

Alt Gr at the same time as the letter a will give you the small mark:D

I past monaghan's of castlebar again and asked the question. I was reliably informed that the socket in question, is in fact for MP3. In Ireland and maybe uk too, they are standard across the board from this year. Must finish my letter to Santy! What colour iPod should i go for?

Thanks all for your friendly replies.
