How do I turn .avi's to .mov or mp4's?

My digital camera saves as .avi, and the ipod needs either .mov of mp4 to store and play...

Cheers

There are a couple of bits of software you can use, I have a psp and have had similar issues when trying to do the same thing.

The best quality pice of software i have is one called PQdvd to psp, but they do the equivelent to optimse for the video ipod, the only issue is unless you pay the £20 fee it will only do about 5-10 mins at a time so for a 1/2 hour program you end up with between 3 and 6 files for the 1 program.

Then i also have PSP movie creator 4 this will do the entire file, but is a bit slower, wont do dvds, and the end file size seems to be bigger.

These both work well and although they are optamised for the PSP both this and the ipod usemp4 playback, it just depends upon what it does about screen resizing.

Both are free to try. Just see what works for you.

Try pocket divx encoder PocketDivXEncoder you can convert .avi files to mp4 or h624 (orr whatever it's called lol) It also has video ipod presets. Most of all it's free!!!!!
