Featured Replies

Right, just ordered a nice Pioneer HU, components for the front doors and 2 ways for the rear so they should be on my door step by the end of the week, thanks to who ever it was that recommended Car Audio Direct, i've saved myself at least

Oct and Furbie adapters are the same the one i had in my previous Fabia fitted the Octy i have now, someone is bound to prove me wrong though :D

Part number of the loom adapter is PC2-69-4 - not sure if it's the same for the Fabia though... :)

Car Audio Direct are excellent!! Highly recommended by moi too!!!

Rob - Is that p/n from Skoda or somewhere like Autoleads?

Funky - I think is was your kind self that recommended them.

Autoleads use it as a part number, but most other manufacturers seem to have adopted the same numbering anyway... :)

You can get these easily but be warned it is very expensive!

What, the loom adapters? Dunno, there's about

just been to halfards and sorted the wiring adaptor, was talking to a guy i know down there and he reckoned this adaptor is a must if your fitting an aftermarket HU, apparently VW swapped the power for the arial over so if you try to wire a HU up without swapping the wire over or using one of these it sends 12v back to the HU and bang !

Am i right in thinking the adaptor for the octy vRS is the one with the amplified arial ?

also am i right that the Octy doesnt need a facia as the single din HU's go straight in the hole ?

Sorry but 1 more Q, how does the OE HU come out ? i noticed there are 2 slots in the sides, is this some sort of locking mech like on aftermarket units ?

Cheers guys, i will get there eventually.

Guy at Halfords has the right sentiments but the wrong reason - it's actually to do with the K-Line diagnostic system. If you don't use the crossover then the dealer's diagnostic equipment can get damaged as a result of a signal sent from an aftermarket HU.

If it's the Autoleads adapter it doesn't usually come with the amplified aeriel, *but* I should point out that you'll still be able to pick up most FM stations without an aplified aeriel anyway...

No fascia is needed on the Octy, just the Fabia...

And yes, those two slots have a locking mechanism in them...poke something flat in there and it should click out...
