Fabia Comfort 1.9 SDi?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Wondered if anyone could give me some advice or info on the Fabia Comfort 1.9 SDi? Thinking about buying a 2000 model, for just over

Well, at least you will not have any turbo problems!

The engine is pretty well bulletproof IMHO , Ive seen Octavia Taxis running that engine go 255000 miles with no probs , so you should just watch out for the generic Fabia faults - Leaks from doors into cabin , electrical problems especially with the power steering , and front suspension issues. Try and get a warranty with the car , and make sure you test drive with the stereo off to listen for rattles etc.

Oh , and Welcome to Briskoda!!

I have one, good car, not too fast though!

Make sure there are no leaks, air conditioning works, that you hear a change in fan noise when u press the recirclate button and a full service history!

Good MPG too, i got 53MPG from my last £10 of mixed driving

Thanks for the advice - much appreciated.

Saw the car this morning, turned out to be a turkey. Cabin leak, passenger front and rear footwells soaking wet, mould on passenger seat, no oil, flat battery (apparently due to interior light being left on last night after interior was part steam cleaned!) front bumper not fitted properly after a bump I reckon, two years documenttion missing for service history.

Needless to say I thanked him for his time and ran.

Looking for a fabia comfort 1.9 sdi, or 1.4 comfort 16v - gonna take time to find a good un I reckon.

Thanks again for the advice chaps
