Letter of doom....

Featured Replies

I arrived home from work and sat on the kitchen worktop was a rather serious looking A5 sized envelope. Not expecting anything in particular I opened it and almost died, speeding notice!!! Firstly I looked at the speed the car was caught at (58mph) and then the limit (40mph), several words came to mind however non are particularly repeatable.

As I read on I notice it's for my old car and further down the letter was the date of the offence. Luckily it was last week and I traded the car in 3 months ago. I have a letter from the DVLA proving I'm no longer the owner. Some poor sod is in for a horrible surprise.

Still a heart stopping moment though!

Any ideas what that'd have been 3 or 6 points? I'm guessing 6.

Probably 6, I'd make copies of everything though and keep DVLA correspondence you may have about it.

Perhaps even wander over / drive over to your local police office to get some advise, they tend to be pretty friendly :)

What a lucky feeling knowing it was not for you! Might only be 3 points for

the other party.

Will deifnately keep copies and send the reply letter recorded. I'm going to enclose a copy of the DVLA notification (that I'm no longer the owner) and hopefully that will be the end of it.
