Difficult diesel cold start

Hi,

Just returned from holiday to cold snap and my Nov. 2000 Octavia 1.9TDi is difficult to start from cold, engine code ALH.

Heater plugs measure 1.7 ohms each in situ, all fuses under dash intact.

If I disconnect water temp. sender to simulate cold start and measure voltage to heater plugs on start up there is no voltage.

Suspect ECU, heater plug relay or heater plug fuse.

Does anyone know where the heater plug relay and fuse is situated my Haynes manual do not mention them.

Hi! I'm in need of some help please. My Octavia estate sat for 8 months unused. The battery went flat (AGM Varta) and doesn't charge. I got the car started with a different battery and then swapped in the dead battery to see if it would start charging. BUT, now the engine was running I needed to move the car a bit and found that the gear stick won't go into reverse gear. It can select 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th but not reverse. I've ordered up a new AGM battery (due in a couple of days) but this reverse

Hi Everyone, I have been investigating how I can replace the decorative trim pieces on the console of the O4 (see attached picture (version I would like). The easy part has been figuring out the general part numbers, however I get stuck on the specifics. This might be just a coincidence. But I have just had a new windscreen fitted following a rock being thrown up by a lorry's wheels hitting it, which left a small chip, which after a few days became a long crack and was growing. The screen was replaced last week, and yesterday I discovered the seat was not responding to the controls. I cannot see any fuse listed in the owner's manual which states it supplies power to the seats. The driver's seat is working as usual, which made me think it must b

Hi all, I noticed a few forums posted over a decade ago, but unfortunately didn't seem to relate. I've got an issue where the cd auto changer had a fault. I pressed the eject button which spat the magazine out. I checked over the cds and everything seemed fine. After reseating the mag, the stereo no longer recognises the magazine, and says "no magazine". Since then I've tried to eject the mag, but had no luck. Has anyone had any issues with this? I removed the autochanger in the idea of fitt
