Hello everybody iam 80 years old. I have just purchased a w reg felicia gxli. very pleased with it so far .beautiful condition.I live in the Bournemouth area. Can you please answer three questions. 1 What mileage is the cam belt changed? Any idea of cost? 2, where ,via the post phone/internet,can i buy a touch-in paint pen.Chilli red.Plus two rear parcel shelf support stays. Very many thanks. Derek.

Welcome to Briskoda, Derek. :D I think the Haynes Manual for the Felicia recommends the cambelt be changed every 40,000 miles - or earlier depending on condition. I had my 1.6GLXi's changed at 43915 miles at a cost of £88.48 - although that was by a local garage charging around £35/hour labour. Butts of Bawtry (see link below) list the straps at 0.30p each and touchup paint at £5.05 - both plus VAT and delivery.

Many thanks Dennis.I will follow up.Regards .Derek.

if yours is a 1.3 glxi it was a timing chain instead of a belt, in which case it doesn't need changing unless it's noisy... but if if yours is a 1.6 then 40k is the best time to change it, or earlier....

i'm pretty certian chilli red is the same as volkswagen flash red, which means you can buy the touch up pens from halfords

Why buy touch-up paint for a Vw in Halfrauds, when you can get the definately right colour cheaper in a Skoda dealers?

Once again very many thanks. Why does the radio remain on when the ignition key as removed? Most cars i have owned the radio goes off when the key is rmoved. This can save a flat battery.
