Time for new pads

Featured Replies

My pad warning light came on the other day so I decided to pop down to kwik-fit to let them have a look (didn't want to get dirty) and they confirmed that the rear pads were nearly gone. The front pads, that set the warning off, were still pretty ok though (about 3mm). I have decided to get them all done today even though the fronts are still okay and it's just a con to try and get you to change you pads 5k miles sooner. I have just got back from GSF where the pads were

£60... that's a good price.... what make are the pads??

Pagid pads. Be warned though, you need a special tool to wind the rear piston back.

Agreed there, did the rear pads on my dads Superb a while back, nightmare job without the tool!

my brake pads warning light has been on for a while so while i had the car in today for its latest service my mechanic checked the brake pads , and said the reason the warning light is on is the sensor wire has snapped , he said there is still about 6 thousand miles left on them so no point at this moment to waste money changing pads .

Thats reminded me, When my brother changed the pads, he noticed the wire wasn't connected on the drivers side. May be the reason for the early warning.
