anybody knows if the rear windscreen is the same as the Passat B5.5 or B5?

as the car is very rare where i come from and VW are more popular, what parts are shared?

I don't know for certain but it looks very like the one on my old B5.5 Passat including the demister element pattern and position.

What's more infuriating is that the Superb also has the same utterly useless underpowered rear screen heater. The damn thing takes for ever to demist and will not shift ice - just the same as the Passat. Why are VAG so stupid in so many points of detail (spare wheel mounted upside down so nobody checks the pressure) and yet produce such good diesels?

Wonder if they changed this in the facelift as my came through the snow and ice test with flying colours. Window was clear in couple of minutes. Obvious point but make sure nobody had cleaned yours with any sort of cleaner as it really buggers up performance. Should only use water and clean cloth on element. Learnt this from experience and a mate who ran a professional valet company.

Hi there. I needed a rear screen over the new year. No one had one, but one place said he had a passat one in stock. They installed it and is fine. It has more heater elements which clears quicker. Hope that helps .
