Clutch adjustment

Featured Replies

Hi folks, the "bite" point on my clutch (02 1.6 102bhp 81k miles) seems quite high up compared to the two Fabias I've been driving while the Octy was being mended. In the Haynes manual it says that the clutch is auto adjusting, and appears to draw hydraulic fluid from the brake reservoir. Could it be that the pipe has blocked or become kinked? Or is there any other way to adjust so that the bite point is nearer the floor? Don't think the clutch itself is kn***ered as there's no slippage when pulling away, and I do long motorway runs mainly.

I looked through the other clutch threads but no mention of this problem, so thanks for any advice you can give.

Not sure about yours, but on my 03 TDI it is hydraulic and therefore non adjustable according to a dealer.

Not adjustable, so the bite point is dependant on the clutch itself.
