Octy VRS Scratches - Black Metallic

Featured Replies

I have recently purchased a new octavia mk2 vrs in black which is absolutley fantastic, really glad I p/x my mk 1 vrs even though it was only 18months old !!!

I was unsure about purchasing car as the deal I was offered was on black car, I have heard alsorts of horror stories about keeping them clean/protected. It was however such a good deal I could not turn it down !! I had the autoglym full protection kit applied prior to delivery. I have had car now approx 4 weeks and have washed & leathered once a week. now despite using new sponges, throughly rinsing out sponge and leather etc I have noticed various scratches appearing around the bodywork, particularrly noticable under lighting so what i need to know is am i doing something wrong ?? They are pretty faint and would probably polish out but surely I shouldnt be having to polish it every week/month

I have had various cars previously both metallic and non metallic but dont recall having this problem, I would like to hear from people out there with same problems or preferably how I can prevent it !! Car is only a month old if it carries on like this I would hate to think what it would look like in 3 years !!! Please can I have recommendations/suggestions ??

First suggestion, DONT USE A SPONGE!!!!. Get yourself a decent wash mit and microfibre drying towel from Halfords and use the two bucket method, that will help immensly.
