Octy II vRS Standard ICE Setup

Featured Replies

Morning all :)

I'm looking at chopping the Furby vRS in for a new Octy II vRS Estate - can anyone tell me any details of the std ICE setup in there? Is it any good?

(Is there any benefit of speccing the Sat nav? other than mapping?)

Also, has anyone modified the stock ICE? Do you have any tips you can send this way?

I am thinking of mild modifications like the BOSE upgrade in Audis & the Dynaudio in Volvos/Mazdas...not full on ICE setups. I'm just after a bit more 'kick'.

Cheers in advance,

I've been in an Octy 2 vRS with standard speaker, but an aftermarket head unit and an active sub, and the sound was simply superb.

That's what i currently have in the Fabia :) Can't fault it really - just wondering whether i'd need (har har - 'need') a space consuming sub really...

It's not bad as standard , but would benefit from being replaced if you really like your music

The thing is, the standard speakers in the Octy are LEAGUES ahead of those in the Fabia... you just need a better head unit to get the best out of them. By fitting even a small active sub, you allow the speakers to reproduce the higher frequencies and mid range better, improving the overall system no end. :)

You'd need to spend atleast £250 on speaker replacements to improve over the OE ones imho, and without changing the head unit or amping them, that would be a total waste. :)
