Removal of Rear Door Lock (1998 Octy)

Featured Replies

Hi.

I'm in a real pickle. The rear door on my 1998 octy ( with central locking) won't unlock no matter what i do.

I've got to the point where I have the door interior removed, and can get to the lock and have removed the power/control cable going to the door.

But I'm now stuck. To remove the lock i need to be able to open the door to get to the bolts on the side of the door - and i can't open the door because the lock is jammed.

I've tried:

1) Removal of battery

2) Running cable from left hand door to right hand door.

3) Removal of Cable to motor and pulling on door handle

None have worked.

Has anybody got any further ideas? Is there a way of forcing the door from inside?

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like the deadlock has come on or at least gone over center.

I have only managed to release them thus far by breaking them apart in situ to release the lever for the dead lock.

Bugger. What's the steps for doing that? I can't find any screws/bolts that i can get to.

If you do take break apart, how much does a full set of replacement parts cost?
