Should I tell the salesman?

I'm looking to change my Skoda Fabia for either a new Octavia estate or moving to Nissan for the x-trail.

The deal on the Nissan is excellent, but will cost more. The deal on the Octavia is not so good. (Only

Personally I woudn't tell them. Its their responsibilty to check...sold as seen

You should be able to get at least

Drive the deal were offering over £1.5k off a new derv elegance so I would suggest you do some more research on prices and then go back to your dealer as their price is not a good one by a long way.

Also consider however the value they are giving you on a trade in. If this is a good value, they have less to play with on the car you are buying.

As for the light, I probably wouldn't say owt.

How do the Skoda prices compare with the xtrail??

What Nissan discounts have you been quoted (if any) and which model are the best offers on, compared to the Octavia.

Nissan x-trail Columbia 2.2 dci brand new £21825, less Nissan Deal £1500, less Fabia exchange £2600. Change over price £17725. Less ?a bit more if ordered this week.

Octavia Elegance 2.0PDI (140 bhp), reg 16.06.06, 10k miles £16000, less Fabia exchange £2500. Change over price £13500

Octavia 2,0 PDI (140 bhp) 4x4 reg 03.01.07, 1600 miles demo, £17748 less Fabia exchange £2500. Change over price £15248.

Recon on another £500 off the Nissan. Skoda say thats the best they can do, and don't seem too bothered if they loose out.

Nissan seems best offer to me.

If you found that the car you ended up with had that problem, you'd be miffed that the dealer didn't tell you. I'd suggest that one should behave towards others as they would like others to behave towards them.

Drive the deal price for Nissan is £20938, then I have to sell the Fabia privately.

Nissan used to have a BIG sweetener for PCPs on X-trails. I think it was

No... The amount it would cost the dealership to fix (not a lot) compared to the amount they would charge you (a lot)... Honesty is not a policy

But dealer's don't list the faults with their cars when you buy them...it's up to you to find them...
