Wipers for Superb.

Featured Replies

Worth a try at under a fiver. Fit perfectly and have the built in spoiler (whatever that does). Not tried them in the rain as yet!

Lots of other junk in store e.g. boot tidy, non slip boot mat, etc etc, plus extendable wheel wrench for

Stay clear of the wheel wrench. It is angled at the end and has a tendency to slip off the wheel bolt when pressure is applied. I damaged one wheel bolt nut - the flats become rounded - and had to buy a replacement.

I just paid nearly £30 for wipers for the wifes Superb, not happy now!!

Stay clear of Lidl :)

Stay clear of Lidl :)

I would be inclined to agree...

I have wasted so much money in their isle of household items I think I can't live without :o Turns out I can.

We did once have a weevil infestation, which might have started in a bag of lidl flour.

I don't touch the milk because it isn't British, but that's just my justice for british cows campaign.

Do they do Fabia stuff?

Worth a look.

Well, I bought a set for my Octavia because my passenger side wiper (an expensive Bosch one) has been largely a waste of space - leaves streaks and makes an annoying noise when lying flat and you're going over about 50mph. I fitted the passenger side one last night - first thing to notice is that in the set of 1 x 19" and 1 x 21" only the latter has a spoiler! Even so, the new one left fewer streaks after a few squirts of screenwash and doesn't make the annoying noise.

Had a chance to try them in the rain today - work perfectly, no judder, sweep cleanly

If I can stand going in there again, I'll buy another pair on Monday.

Thanks for the advice on the wheel wrench though.

Why is the place full up with stuff that you never knew you needed, e.g electric ashtray cleaner, dog hoover etc?

Strange, never had an issue with mine and its had a fair amount of use over the years.

The ones you want are marked 530 mm.

Note this is different to what the in-store guide says.

I bought some bosch aero wipers from halford for my Superb, they started of OK but when they've been sat on the screen on a cold night they seem to get set in the last position they were in and dont flip as the wipers go up and down the screen which can be very noisey and anouying! anyone else had this problem? what are Skoda Aero wipers like? I would have thought they'd be made by bosch so might have same problem, is this so? Cheers Bryanp

This is a real problem with the Bosch wiper blades and it applies to an even greater extent to the "Aero" type although the rubbers are the same as the standard pattern. The rubber does become "set" when the wipers are left parked and consequently don't flip when the blades change direction - hopeless. They are also far too stiff to do anything properly when it's cold.

The fix for the "non flip" problem is to try to remember, each time you leave your car, to lift the blade slightly off the screen and move the wiper arm slightly so that the rubber is flipped in the opposite direction when the blade is parked on the screen. You will forget a few times - this is OK because the idea is to prevent the rubbers from becoming "set" in the direction the motor leaves them.

Altogether a shambles. Why can't VAG fit proper wipers? Next car Japanese - too many poor details like this on these cars.
