And another variable service question!

Featured Replies

Just had my 2005 Octavia 1.9 4x4 serviced.

It is set to variable service intervals.

After 109 miles I checked the service indicator & it just showed --- against both the miles & days.

I rang the dealer who said it mustn't have been set properly.

Called in tonight on the way home & they plugged in the computer to fix it.

Like an idiot I didn't check it before driving away, only to do so when I got home & it still shows ---!!!

Does it take a while to figure itself out & set the mileage & days, or haven't they set it correctly? I can't remember if it did the sams after the last service.

Thanks

Tony

The day after my last service I checked and the display was how you described....however a few days later (not sure how many) it was working again. Maybe it needs some time time to assess the driving before beginning the countdown to the next service.

Yup, has been covered before. It takes some tiem for the oil quality sensor to re configure the dash insert.

I will keep an eye on it over the next few days/weeks to see when it springs into life.
