If your car is registered on or after 23rd (exact day escapes me now) March 2006 and is in the high polluting G band, then you will pay £300 this year, £400 next year. If your car is regsistered on or after 1st March 2001, but before the 23rd of March 2006, then you will be sitting in Band A to F, and see an increase of £5/£10 a year. The bands are according to CO2, so you would have to look that up somewhere. Cars registered before 1st of March 2001 are taxed on engine size, and will also see an increase in tax of a fiver/tenner each year.
