Front courtesy light

Featured Replies

In the last day or so I've noticed on opening my front doors either to get in or get out of the car that the front interior light does not come on. If opening the rear doors the back interior light which has the same setting as the front does come on.

Any ideas - attached is a pici of the front setting?

Also on the subject of lights - the lights in the wing mirrors (puddle lighting) do they only come on when going to the car rather than getting out of the car? I was in a rather unlit car park today and with no interior light on and no puddle lighting either it was quite difficult to see what one was doing.

Thanks

Central position as it is in the pic is off all the time, right hand position: on with open doors, left hand position: on all the time.

Flick the switch to the far right for auto operation.

I have light assist and IIRC my puddle lights remain on after I get out of my car for as long as the coming home headlights stay on. If you don't have light assist then that might explain it.

I do have light assist but for the times in question didn't have it on - when I go to open the doors nevertheless the puddle lights appear to be on.

I will try switching the light to the right - I did do so but it stayed on so I assumed it was on permanently - maybe it'll go out after 30 secs automatically.

thanks for the comments

They should go off when you use the door lock button on your key fob.

I don't have light assist and the puddle lights stay on until the delay timer elapses or the car is locked.

AFAIK the puddle lights are goverened by a light sensor as there have been times where they haven't come on in an underground car park and one would expect them to do so. I presume this is the same sensor that auto dims the Maxi dot display.
