I understand these operate when you wash the windscreen but they don't seem to operate everytime.

I'm guessing they operate every fifth wash, can anyone confirm? or tell me if I'm wrong.

Dont know about the fabia, but on my mondeo they only work when the headlights are on.

Can you have them retrofitted, I go to work at 4:30 am and allways use my full beam on the twisty country lanes near ST. Albans, are they better?

psion5 - uprate your main beam bulbs... Best option.

On the Fabia they operate when you have to lights turned on. You also have to leave the washers on for a few seconds before the headlight washes pop up and do their stuff.

Just referred to the manual, they operate after approx 3 seconds of continuous windscreen washer usage, then they pop-up and spray for approx 1 second before dropping down again.
