My new install

Featured Replies

Well, I've just done my first ever install. Wasn't quite as horrifying as I first thought.

Now have the following bits:

Blaupunkt Woodstock

Lanzar Vibe 421 1000w amp

Focal 165KS components

Focal 13" sub

Many thanks to AndyCCR, for the top prices and the advice. Also huge thanks to Paul (Ffelan) and Andre (FunkyJutel) for their massive patience, for answering my panicy 'phone calls and not laughing too loud at my antics.

Sounds good, just got to run in the sub now.

:D

no probs jon....

looking forward to a listen....

Well done Jon - not bad for a weekends work! You got it all working and everything? How many hours have you been recommended to run in the speakers?

Components need running in as well as I found out when I had my install done - I was horrified the first time I heard it - it was tinny and crappy, but after a few weeks of running in it sounds the business

PS Gossy is the man! Got your Defi controller which I need to get to you at some point - mine was OK - it was just the wires that were done.

He doesn't need the controller...no modding remember.;)

Hehe - We'll have to do a compare at Brunters once I got Des' old sub back in the boot. :speaker: :speaker:

When you say focals, are you talking 6x9 parcel shelf affair? :D

PS: guess what CD I'm listening to when the new H.U comes up with "hard trance".... ???

Sounds nice!

Nope, 16.5 cm kevlar coned components for the front doors, done about 6 months worth of use so they're run in. :D Sound awesome!

The 13" focal sub is what needs to run in.

Like the CD Jason?

Dave I'll pop round for the controller at some point, glad you got 2 of the 3 working. Look any neater under the bonnet?

Paul, :P

Hmmm - It seems Amanda knows a lot about the system... wonder what she's been up to in the SDI monster? (judging by the unedited email notification I got. :D :P)

Yeah thanks Jon - I'd heard the CD on my PC but it kind of doesn't have the same effect as in the car, and as I managed to get my CD writer working again last night it's time to collate some quality albums together to get on one CD in MP3 form. Suggestions? :D (hmm, time for a new thread)

she's been using a c-spanner to tighten his c-nuts.

I saw some Kenwood 13cm component speakers in the shop when I made my impulse buy on Saturday, but I figured unless I manage to blow the speakers I'm not doing anything (plus I have two other standard spare speakers sitting in a wreck on a mate's farm... :D)
