Speaker upgrade in Octy vrs

Featured Replies

Hi Folks,

I currently just the bog standard factory ICE setup in my car at the moment and am looking for something that gives a bit more clout. I am saving the pennies for external mods, but dont want to neglect my ears so I am looking at upgrading my cars speakers (Head unit will be done towards the end of the year). My thoughts are what do you recommend? I dont want to have to butcher my car, straight swaps if possilble, but I do want something that the standard HU can handle well prior to me replacing it.

Any suggstions on speakers and prices would be much appreciated?

Even budget speakers (

just recently changed the HU and speakers in my octy. i would also agree that changing the HU first would be the best option as the standard speakers arent that bad with a decent HU in place. Although i found they dont handle much over 30W per channel ;)

Anyway, as for a recommendation i went for Pioneer components here http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=455

For the money they are very good, nice sound and good power handling.
