Dirty or about right?

Featured Replies

Replaced the air filter in the vRS yesterday and wondered if this is normal for a 13k filter? The car feels no different to before it was replaced and wondered if I could have gone a bit further on the original?

I'm on variable awaiting the first service indicator to pop up.

Cheers.

Looks about right, could have maybe done a few more k, but a clean filter is always going to be better for peace of mind.

Yep looks fine.

Although if its out you may as well put the new one in.

I'd say you could probably have run that to about 20k if you wanted to, but I wouldn't scrimp for the sake of £10, especially if it is out already.

By 40k they are solid black in teh TDI's :o

yeah that looks about average to me

Thanks for the replies folks. I didn't think it had made any difference, but I had the wife and baby in with me the day I replaced it. Since then I've had a chance to 'make good progress' and blimey! Who'd have thought somathing as simple as that would be so noticeable?

I hadn't realised how sluggish the car had become, now it is back to full power and goes great.
