Skoda's new Octavia Scout is a fine, practical and unobtrusive 4x4, says Mark Hales

It all made me wonder, though, what role the ordinary Octavia Combi was supposed to fill. What was the point of its four-wheel drive if it didn't have the raised ride height to cope with the cambers and ruts that lie where the extra traction might take it?

We like: Capable on-road, unobtrusive (not usually the case with off-roaders).

We don't like: Not much, actually.
