Cambelt Intervals have they changed ?

Featured Replies

I phoned my local dealer to find out when my timming Belt needed changing and was advised that they had changed the mileage intervals to every 40k of 4 years. Has anybody else heared about this. Or was this the norm anyway. I thought it was more like 80k.

Thanks

Shappy

60K or 4 years it is these days. There is a sticky (and lots of other threads) with the info in it.

I've seen it quoted as "check belt wear every service from 40k" somewhere. The 60k or 4 years seems sensible though.

Mine has been every 40K since new in 1999 - first one was done under the free servicing package and the dealer wouldn't have done it for nothing if he could have charged for it at 60K.

Vauxhall revised their intervals to every 40k miles recently so I assume others will do the same.
