Looking for an Octavia

Featured Replies

Hi All, I am new to the site as I have decided to buy my first Skoda which will be an Octavia and would very much appreciate any help.

I am looking for a 1.9 Diesel Octavia DSG Lauren & Klement. I cant run to a new model and there seem to be only a few used examples around. I am looking for a car up to 2 years old with full Skoda history etc.

Am I being a bit ambitious and should I modify my search ?

Any tips on where else I should search ? I am trying ebay, dealers, adverts, etc.

I live South of London within the M25.

Thanks in advance for any help and tips.

Autotrader, Pistonheads, Parkers maybe

A few other ideas.....

[*]If you go on the

I'm not sure how long the L&K version has been available (being fairly new to the model), but I know my local dealer had an early Elegance DSG which had leather added to it, which they said was the top of the range at the time it was built. Certainly it seems to me that the majority of used L&K DSGs right now are the 2.0, and might be too new for your budget (which you haven't stated).

There are a lot more Elegance versions available second hand, although I've no idea how many have leather, and although this doesn't truely bring the car up to the spec of the 2006 L&K (the new 2007 L&K being even higher spec), it might be close enough, depending on which features make you want the L&K in the first place.

I looked for a 1 year old 2l TDi, manual estate in a non foul (e.g. not beige) colour for several months. They are like Rocking Horse pooh, and there were only ever a few on the skoda system at a time, nationally. Autotrader was not better. In the end, the difference between the second hand price, and the "Drive the deal" new price wasn't that great, so we went for new. This gave us the extra years warranty, the lovelly new car smell, and the latest L&K spec, which is full of "nice to have's" that you don't otherwise get.

There are a few that come up, but most seem to be ex VAG employees lease cars, as they only get them for about 10k miles or 6-9 months before they are sold off.

took me about 4 months of looking before I found a year old one in my price range and a right bargain it was when i got it. i was originally looking for an elegance with maxidot but these seemed like hens teeth at the time too.

Very much appreciate the advice. Have included the above sites in my search and posted a wanted notice in the Classified section of this site.

Will continue the trawl and if anyone hears of a possible lead please let me know.

Thanks again.

As regards looking on the Skoda website for used examples , one major franchised dealership told me they don't advertise on there because it's too expensive but that they do put their vehicles on Autotrader instead.

Hatch or Estate?

Just did a quick search and found a couple at Dennis Horton Skoda Dealership in Lincoln (the closest place that had any!!), 55 Plate Shara Beige Tdi PD 17,500 miles
