I'm looking to change my Symphony single CD player in my vRS. The current stereo is larger to the standard DIN size stereo but what I'd like to do, is remove the tray thing underneath the stereo and the stereo and fit in it's place a VW Gamma radio cassette and a VW 6 CD dash player.

Has anyone already tried this? Or do you know if it will work?

Do a search for gamma it will throw up loads of results.

It will do yes but obviously you'll have illumination light differences.

However the Skoda unit is overlaps the din e configuration so you'll be left with a small gap at the top of your Gamma where it meets the row of switches for traction and heated rear window You should be able to buy a blanking plate for this.

I'm quite happy with the Symphony sound quality, I have a old Gamma and a Blaupunkt Woodstock DAB in the loft so I may well sell them.
