Xenons - How long should they last, and how much to replace?

Never had one go, it might not be the bulb, have you checked the fuses etc

I had to replace a couple after the car got shortened !! if it is a bulb prepare your credit card for a pounding

The idea behind Xenon is that the bulb should last pretty much twice as long as Halogen bulbs and in some cases as long as the vehicle, however with most Xenon lamps this is a service only lamp meaning that if you have any problems then you have to take it to the dealers to be fixed as without removing the front bumper you won't be able to get at the headlamp.

I work for the company that manufacture the Superb headlamps so sourcing spare parts is not a problem and fitment is just as easy but it may well not be the bulb but I am sure that your dealer will tell you the failure mode.......

after someone reversed into my superb i had to have a replacement unit cost

I have just replaced 2 on the Octy after an accident, They were list about 450 each with bulbs another 100

I queried Xenons at the dealer a few weeks back, Each bulb was quoted at around

If they are supposed to last the life of the car would that mean they are covered under warranty?

When these cars are older, a stone chip in one of the headlights would write the car off!!

Plenty of cheap good make xenons (all bulbs) for next to nothing on ebay!!!
