Dpf

Featured Replies

I'm thinking of putting my fabia estate in for a 1.9TDI Superb demonstrator,I don,t want one with a DPF,i only potter around, but want theSuperb for towing a caravan. How can i tellwhich models have a DPF? Many thanks

Only the 2.0 PD has the DPF so if your looking for a used 1.9 you'll be fine.

I dont think the new 115bhp 1.9 PD uses a DPF, can someone confirm this?

If you want to tow I would recommend a 130PS Euro Cat III Superb. Look on the cambelt plastic clip-on cover and you will see the engine code which is 3 letters. The one to have is AWX.

Avoid the Cat IV and 2 litre PD engines at all costs. The Cat IV engines suffer from blocked DPFs and the 2 litre engines are beginning to show problems with failed oil pump drives and blown head gaskets.

I may be biased, but the best Superb of all time is the 130PS diesel with folding back seats - there was about an 18 month window in which this combination was available.

rotodiesel.

I havent seen a 2.0 8V with oil pump drive issues (they dont run the balancer shafts of the 16v engines) but the DPF issue is well covered.

I would second that, its a shame you cant do it to the 140 bhp :thumbdwn: :thumbdwn:
