ESP Light on

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Been having the ESP Light on when ever i did a fast accelerations and i notice that is the time when the ESP light will come on.

When it come ons, the car become very slow and i am unable to pick up. My RPMS will increase but not my speed.

However whenever i switch of and on the ESP light will be gone.

Any possibilities of what fault?

are you saying that when accelerating hard the ESP light flashes (if so thats normal operation of esp, it just means its cutting in) or do you mean it sporadically comes on and stays on and the car sort of falls into limp mode ?

Hello, I'm not entirely sure how the above can happen - ESP doesn't disengage your clutch!

It may be that ESP is cutting in as normal (although this sounds more like the ASR component) but you really need to get fault codes scanned if the light stays on for more than a few seconds after your foot comes off the accelerator pedal if you are driving in a straight line on flat ground.

No it seems like whenever it wants it will happen. Normally happens when i restart the car after a short stop and the car will be in limp mode.. Cannot even exceed 2500 rpm.. hiaz..

Send to dealers and diagnoise with a pedal sensor faulty..

Got such things as pedal Sensor??

yes there are accelerator pedal sensors clutch pedal sensors, and brake pedal sensors, we had a superb in a while ago with a similar problem, and it was down to the ESP control unit, but seeing as you have a fault on the pedal its obviously not that though there is a possibility that it is related to the control module
