L&K Alloys

Featured Replies

My alloys on my Octy L&K are becoming a bit worse for wear.

When I bought the car, just over a year ago, the paint on the wheels was starting to flake.

I have tried to keep them looking good, but over time they are getting worse.

I am looking for a company who can refrub my wheels, but everone company I have spoke to, say they can not match the colour, can get close, but may not be the same.

It is a wierd colour really, like a dull polished chrome if anone knows of it.

Does anyone know of anywhere, that would be able to refurb them, and match the colour.

Also, what sort of prices will I be looking at.

I am in Glossop, Derbyshire. Which is about 15 miles off Manchester.

Cant help on the refurb recomendation your end of the country, I have a very good bodyshop locally that I use.

If you are doing all 4 as long as its close it wont matter

Also trawl the scrappies for a s/hand set

Thanks for the reply, the only problem i have found is there are not many places selling these wheels, and as they were a ltd edition wheel, when they are for sale, they are very expensive.

As for doing them close, I have got a spare too, so 5 would be done, but its such a wierd colour, and would want them perfect if i had them all done.

I think i am just gonna have to keep looking round, but all other info of anyone is greatly appricated.

Thanks.

Chris

Just how bad are they if you dont mind me asking? As i have now got 18" alloys but did have the exact same wheels which have just been lying dorment, and have meant to sell for a while i do know one of them has got the flaking you speak of but only near the centre cap itself, maybe worth a try.

just thought i'd let you know anyhow (really should check on the spare as that could be brand new am guessing)

good luck anyhow whatever you decide

They are all starting to flake around the center caps, and one is flaking on one of the spokes.

They just look a mess more around the center cap than anything.

I will try to get a couple of pictures later, and post them.

i have googled the wheels, and searched ebay, and there are none anywhere for sale.

Chris

I'll do a proper clean and detail on mine and let you have a few pics if you like, probably not before weekend though :) then you can decide if they may be a better propostition :)

I'll get spare out too to see if it is brand new, ive never actually had it out personally (car second hand to me you see!)
