courtesy cars

Is it common practice for skoda dealers to charge for use of courtesy cars?

Its a new one to me

A few threads on this, some do, some don't. Its becoming more common to charge I think.

But if you've just bought the car and something has gone horribly wrong in the first few days, have a bit of a rant and see if that changes anyones minds about charging you ;)

Thanks moose

looks like the mrs can get the bus back home after she has dropped the car off:D

My two local Skoda dealers don't (didn't?) charge for courtesy cars and just asked that the car be returned with the same amount of fuel. I suspect if they don't charge specifically, the cost is included in the price of the service, but at least you feel like it's not costing anything which is a nice touch :D

My local dealer won't charge but do insist on you covering your own insurance.

When I lost the ST to the dealer for a month for warranty work they gave me a hire car free of charge and covered all the insurance on it.

Both my local VW and Skoda dealer charge approx

I got a car today for when mine was in getting fixed. No charge, but a large notice in the car saying it's up to you to refuel to where it was when you got it, or else a

Had a Roomster today as a free courtesy car. It was the PD105 version. To be honest, I couldn't wait to get back into my Octy. :o It rolled around everywhere, plastics felt cheap (whole interior did really), had poor brakes and to top that off, when I pulled into work the first thing someone said about it was "isn't that the pope-mobile?". I can understand the attraction for those after that useful luggage space etc, but IMHO it is a major step down from the mk1 Furby, yet alone the new Octy. Good engine though, I have missed attaining 50mpg+ when driving brisky. :D
