Has been working ok for 2 years - now get repeated "Check Magazine" message any ideas, or do I need a new one?

You could try a CD lens cleaner in the first instance. When mine went it was properly broke and needed replacement. The error message was "no disc" IIRC.

Chris

Had it on my Mk1 elegance.

A CAREFULL vac out seemed to cure it.

This was pretty common on the changer on the MK I Octy.

As stated just blow the dust out and give it a careful vacuum around the slot (don't put the hoover in it). Run a cleaning CD through and all should be happy again.

If that doesn't work, then check the area below the changer for damp as if the car has a rear washer this can come undone and leak. The joint in the pipe is pretty close to the connector for the changer and can also cause changer oddities.

I gave mine a good blow out and it worked ok.

Cheers
