Will Symphony head unit work cd changer?

Featured Replies

A work colleague has a Skoda Symphony cd headunit from a Fabia for sale.

I have a very dated cassette headunit in my Octy L&K (why on earth did they still fit a cassette deck in 2001?).:thumbdwn:

Does anyone know if the Fabia unit work my 6 disc changer?

The newer fabia CD headunits are changer compatible and I do't know of any reason why it wouldn't work with your current setup. Does it fit the dash though?

Why not ask if you can borrow it to try.

It's a single din unit so should fit.

I know it would make sense to try it and see - however work colleague probably wasn't a great description. He's in the same business (radio journalist) but works 120 or so miles away!

A new headunit would probably make more sense but then I would definitely lose the changer. MP3 and all that is way too technical for me as well. I just want to switch it on and hear my music. Decisions, decisions

The Symphony fitted to the Fabia is deeper than that fitted to the Octavia. The double-din hole is the same depth in both cars but the fabia has a larger radio and smaller coin pocket where as in the Octavia they are both the same size.

I've drawn a basic diagram to try to explain what I mean!:

Also the front of the radio on the Fabia is like a convex shape where as the Octavia is flat.

This information is based on the cars I have seen, others may be different so it's worth checking.
