Air con compressor failed

Featured Replies

Yet another octavia to add to the list of having had the air con compressor die.

Started making a horrible sound yesterday so called the RAC out, arrived within half an hour and the mechanic though it was a pully/tensioner seizing up on the cam belt. They recovered it half an hour later to Telfords in carlisle.

At this point (around 1200) the RAC set about arranging a coutesy car, they finally managed it the next day at 0945 after I got the train home. Not impressed :thumbdwn:

So I am now driving around in a Vauxhall astra 1.8 petrol. Not bad although the brakes are a little on/off and it dosent feel like a 140hp engine. Skoda, however, have arranged for me to keep it till the car is fixed on Tuesday.

I was lucky it failed now as there is less than 3 weeks warranty left on the car. So do Skoda have an extended warranty scheme yet, and if so how much?

Yes. I believe that the price - and cover available - depends on the age and mileage of the car.
