When the satellite navigation voice

When the person is speaking and giving you the 'Navigation' directions you can adjust the volume dial in order to make them louder or you can access the 'Navigation' volume in the 'Volume' settings on the unit.

I am confident you can mute the audio when the person speaks but I will check this at lunchtime as I may be wrong.....

I was thinking the same about the radio or CD still playing during the navigation instructions last weekend on a trip to Liverpool.

I've looked in the menu for volume settings and there's a mute available under the navigation settings.

I've just set the mute to on but don't know if works until I use the navigation next time.

I've tried that already and it does the exact opposite of what we need; it mutes the satnav (permanently) and not the radio.

Thanks for letting me know, I'll change it back!

Beat me too it mate, forgot to check at lunchtime but checked last night and found the same....it basically mute's the Navigation.

I would do as I suggested in my first post and alter the volume of the Navigation when the person is saying something....works for me!!
