Is the superb gearknob the same as the octavias etc? Only mine has all the writing almost work off.

Depending on which gearbox you have reverse may well be int he wrong place.

Also the kno3 also comes with the gaiter and I think the fitment may be different.

Doh lol, I have the 1.8T Comfort, 5 speed. Reverse is bottom right.

I spoke to the dealer last week about this as I was looking to replace mine as the leather **** is worn and the writting is flaking off, to be expected at 130k though and I was told that they cost around

Lift the gaitor up and its clipped underneath.

As Lummox has stated the gear stick is secured with a circlip underneath it and comes with the gaitor attached......

Fitment of a Passat gear stick would be possible but it would be trial and error as I don't know of anyone on this forum that has done it?

If the attachment is anything like it is on the Fabia, then you might be able to with a little work.

I read an interesting article on here about shortening the shift on a Fabia VRS which is very informative - perhaps if they attach in a similar way you could use those instructions to help you "convert"?

Of course, there's always aftermarket gearknobs - but be careful you don't chav it up...
